It's Quitting Time!
According to the federal Centers For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), cigarette smoking is the leading preventable cause of death in the United States, responsible for 443,000 deaths annually. An estimated 49,000 deaths are the result of secondhand smoke exposure. In Anne Arundel County, about 1 in 5 adults and teens smokes. No wonder lung cancer is the County's leading cancer killer.
