The primary mission of Behavioral Health's Prevention and Education Services is to promote public health by reducing drug and alcohol abuse among young people in Anne Arundel County.
- Presentations, Training and Exhibits are provided to County schools, after-school programs, community groups, faith-based programs and parent groups. Prevention and Education Services seeks to increase awareness of the nature and extent of the drug and alcohol abuse and violence in the County. The program provides information to increase awareness of the risk associated with alcohol and drug use.
- The Community Grants Program awards community-based grants to organizations seeking to implement evidence-based model programs that promote alcohol and other drug and violence prevention strategies.
