Salary: $29.99 per hour with benefits or $32.62 per hour without benefits

Benefits: Participation in the county’s group health plan (including prescription, dental and optical). Paid holidays, annual leave and sick leave. The selected employee may also participate in the county’s deferred compensation program at his or her own expense.

Job Description

Nature of Work: Under the direct supervision of the Community Health Nurse Supervisor for the Public Health Emerging Pathogens Response Programs Phone and Email Bank team, will serve as the first point of contact for county residents, stakeholders and community partners asking for accurate information and guidance related to COVID-19. The selected candidate should have excellent interpersonal, customer service, critical thinking and assessment skills and be culturally sensitive so that they are able to build and maintain trust with county residents. Additionally, this position requires someone who has the ability to present information in an empathetic manner and clearly and concisely. The selected candidate will be required to have a personal vehicle available for use with mileage reimbursement provided per Department of Health policies and will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland. The position will be required to work day shift, evening shift and weekends as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Determined by the Maryland Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for Registered and Practical Nurses.

Experience: Experience working in a fast paced environment.

License: Must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse or a Licensed Practical Nurse from the Maryland Board of Nursing.
