Salary: $22.00 per hour
Benefits: Participation in the county’s group health plan (including dental, optical and prescription), paid holidays, annual and sick leave. The selected employee may also participate in the county’s deferred compensation program at his or her own expense.
Job Description
Nature of Work: The Community Health Educator II researches, develops, implements, promotes and evaluates comprehensive evidenced-based community health education programs. The educator will have a specific emphasis in the areas of health equity, public information and risk communication. The employee will be required to have transportation available and will be provided with mileage reimbursement for the use of their personal vehicle for any travel in excess of their normal commute to their regular worksite. This position works occasional nights and weekends. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public health education, community health education or health science.
Experience: One year of experience planning, developing, implementing and promoting health education projects.
Notes: Candidates may substitute a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 18 credit hours in public health education, community health education, health science or related behavioral science and two years of experience planning, developing, implementing and promoting health education projects for the required education and experience.
