What Is Bullying?
Bullying is a serious public health problem. But, what exactly is considered bullying? StopBullying.gov describes youth bullying here.
Over 30% of middle school and high school students in Anne Arundel County have experienced being bullied.
A bullied child may become anxious, depressed, insecure and reclusive.
Being bullied can lead to loss of friends, loneliness, poor school performance, weight gain or weight loss, suicidal thoughts or violence. Read about the effects of bullying on the bullied, the bullies and the bystanders.
Bullying is not something to laugh about.
Bullying prevention and intervention have become priorities, and harassing behavior should not be tolerated. Everyone has a right to be in a safe and friendly place. Kindness matters and you can make a positive difference in someone's life by being nice and respectful. Here are some ways to stand up and show your support against bullying.
