Location: 711 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD 21401
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Benefits: Participation in the County’s group health plan including prescription, dental, and optical, paid holidays and sick leave. Optional deferred compensation program at employee's own expense.

Job Description

Nature of Work:

Functions as a non-clinical, peer-based position that engages, educates and supports individuals to make life changes necessary to recover from disabling mental illness and/or substance use disorder conditions. Responsible for facilitating the care and streamlining handoffs with other parties in the county health care system, ensuring Wellmobile participants receive the appropriate continuing care. Key tasks include promoting timely access to appropriate care; assisting clients with navigating the service delivery system; creating and promoting adherence to a recovery plan, developed in coordination with the client and when appropriate, providers and family/caregivers; facilitating client engagement and follow-up in treatment; increasing client ability for self-management and shared decision-making; and connecting clients to relevant community resources, to enhance client health and recovery.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Associate degree in behavioral health from an accredited college or university.
Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health

Experience:

Bachelor’s or associate's degree with at least two years working in the behavioral health field. Must be able to provide a personal statement describing what skills and abilities he/she has to offer to this field of work, maintain daily contact notes and submit monthly reports timely and accurately, and coach and model effective coping skills and develop a relationship of rapport and trust. Experience working with individuals on medications for opioid use disorders. Strong communication skills with other health professionals, coworkers and clients. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel. Professional demeanor.

Notes:

May be assigned duties that require the operation of a motor vehicle. Required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in and have access to a personal vehicle.

Desired or Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with treatment and community resources that support recovery from addictive diseases and co-occurring behavioral health disorders. Ability to maintain effective peer recovery relationships with participants and other team members. Exceptional organizational and time management skills. Experience with technology, specifically Gmail, Google Calendar and Drive. Excellent and situation-appropriate oral and written communication skills.
