Advisory Issued for Nine Beaches Due to High Enterococci or Bacteria Levels

Effective July 24, 2024 the Department of Health has issued a health advisory for swimming, and other direct water contact due to high enterococci or bacteria levels for the following locations:

  • Sandy Point East Beach
  • Beverly Triton Nature Park
  • Annapolis Sailing
  • Fort Smallwood Park
  • Sherwood Forest Pier
  • Epping Forest
  • Fairhaven
  • Avalon Shores
  • Westelee

The Department of Health advises against swimming, waterskiing and other direct water contact activities. The advisory is in effect until follow-up testing shows water quality conditions are acceptable.
