Position open to all qualified candidates.
Location: 3 Harry S. Truman Parkway, Annapolis, MD 21401
Hours: 40 hours per week

Job Description

Nature of Work:

Provide front desk coverage at the Health Care Enrollment Center. Assist customers by screening their case using specialized computer systems, verifying and copying important documents required for the application process and assigning their case to the appropriate case manager. Provide continuous daily telephone coverage. Knowledge of Medical Assistance (MA) policy and procedures, social benefit program and community resources is necessary to respond appropriately and independently to incoming calls and assist customers coming in person.

Perform administrative and office support for the Medical Assistance for Families/Maryland Children's Health Program (MA4F/MCHP) unit to maintain efficient operation. Maintain records in the unit, as well as those leaving the unit, assuring distribution and filing of records. Perform yearly purge of records. Sort and log MA4F/MCHP. Make copies of all received documents.

Bilingual staff assists with interpreting and translating (English to Spanish and Spanish to English) for MA4F/MCHP, as needed; completes a monthly Limited English Proficiency Report (LEP).

Perform other duties/special projects as assigned by the Supervisor and Program Manager. Respond to call-down drills or actual emergency events as soon as possible, regardless of when message is received.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED)

Experience:

Two years of office support.

Notes:

Additional general clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

Desired or Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to communicate fluently, both verbally and in writing, in both English and Spanish languages.
