What is TOPS?
TOPS is short for "Take Off Pounds Sensibly." It’s a nonprofit organization that focuses on weight loss support groups and wellness education. TOPS offers tools and programs for healthy living and weight management. Biweekly meetings include private weigh-ins and professionally prepared, informational chapter programs, featuring up-to-date information on nutrition, exercise and healthy lifestyles. Programs provide positive reinforcement and motivation to adhere to food and exercise programs.
What Should You Expect From a TOPS Meeting?
The meetings would be approximately an hour long. The first 30 minutes would be dedicated to member weigh in (optional), followed by members sharing any weight loss or weight gain as a group. The chapter meetings also include a short presentation, support and member discussions.
*No-Cost TOPS memberships through the Anne Arundel County Department of Health are available for a limited time only.
When are the Meetings?
Meetings are held every other Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at the Pip Moyer Recreation Center.
